Wye Insurance Consultants was established in 1992 by Jim Harris who left the UK's largest insurance company to set up a more modest enterprise in Bakewell in rural Derbyshire.

We specialise in Personal insurances (but not Life or Pensions) and small businesses.

From the outset the aim of the company was to combine competitive insurance premiums with the personal service which even then was becoming difficult to find. Since then the rise of the call centre and the offshoring of insurance jobs have made personal service even more of a rarity.

As a result we at Wye Insurance are busier than ever. Direct and online insurance are for many people an unsatisfactory way of doing business. Call centre staff, driven by targets and paid on commission are mainly interested in making the sale and moving on to the next one. At Wye Insurance we take time to listen to your requirements, think about them, make practical suggestions, and do our best to help you choose what you need from the many policies we have to offer.

Unlike call centres, should you have to make a claim you will speak to the same staff at Wye Insurance. We act for you, not the insurance company, which means we can give you honest, impartial advice as to how to proceed. When you need to claim, we're here to help.
